We’re in the Top 3 Best Holiday Historic Home Tours in the Nation!

On social media, you may have noticed The Hall asking you to vote Meadow Brook Hall’s Holiday Walk as the best Holiday Historic Home Tour in the nation in USA Today’s 10 Best contest.

We are excited to announce that, thanks to the dedication of the voters and their appreciation for The Hall, we have placed THIRD IN THE COUNTRY!

Meadow Brook Hall finished behind only Graceland, Elvis Presley’s home, and Glensheen, a mansion in Minnesota.

Thank you again to all who took the time to vote for our treasured National Historic Landmark and the birthplace of Oakland University!

And, if you have not yet personally experienced Meadow Brook Hall’s 47th Annual Holiday Walk, you will want to see one of the best in the country — we are open through Sunday night, December 23.

  1. I just wanted to let you know we drove from Detroit & Davison last night for the Christmas Tour to find out it was cancelled for a private event(wedding). We had two families that looked online and didn’t see anything about the cancellation therefore did not call. There should be notification in this matter, especially if the road conditions could have been a struggle.
    Thank You,
    Erin Johnson

  2. Hi Erin,

We apologize for the confusion and inconvenience. Meadow Brook Hall was open for touring on Friday, December 21, only from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Most days of the Holiday Walk are only available for touring from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and those days that are exceptions are called out on the website. The days that The Hall is open late are: DECEMBER 1, 11, 17-20, DECEMBER 22-23. You can see these called out on the Holiday Walk page under “Holiday Lights and Winter Nights”.
Again, we apologize for the confusion and inconvenience!
