Oakland Student Information
A National Historic Landmark, Meadow Brook Hall is the historic home of Oakland University’s founders Matilda Dodge Wilson and Alfred Wilson.
Anticipating a need for higher education in Oakland County, Matilda and Alfred Wilson donated their 1,400-acre estate and $2 million dollars to start Michigan State University – Oakland, which later became Oakland University by the time the first class graduated in 1963!
Today, Meadow Brook operates as a self-sustaining museum and hub for community events. Just like the Wilson Family, Meadow Brook welcomes students of OU to the Great Estate.
