Wedding Blog: Rustic Tent Wedding Feature

Kayla & Troy

Chilly weather, cider mills, pumpkin spice – fall is clearly upon us in Michigan! Fall is a beautiful time for a rustic themed wedding, with warm colors, exposed wood to match the trees outside, and beautiful greens to bring nature in. This week, we are featuring the elegantly rustic wedding of Kayla and Troy, held last October here at Meadow Brook Hall.

The couple had their ceremony in the Pegasus Garden where the changing leaves swayed behind the altar. The arbor was draped in pale pink fabric with and adorned with pale pink flowers, greenery, and pops of cranberry red. Chairs featured similar arrangements lining the aisle.

Following the ceremony, guests moved to cocktail hour on the Loggia Terrace where they enjoyed views of the colorful leaves across the golf course. The Great Hall housed the wooden “W” guest book, representing the couple’s new last name, for guests to sign. The Refractory Table showcased greenery, branches, and antlers to tie in the rustic theme, and even the detail on the escort cards had flowers to match the floral arrangements.

Centerpieces from Emerald City Designs continued the elegant rustic look with lanterns in mixed heights, beautiful crisp greenery, tree branch elements, and antlers. Ivory sequin linen complemented the pale floral colors. Gold chiavari chairs and charges also added the sophisticated touch with another fall color.

Kayla and Troy thought of every last detail to tailor their wedding to fit their style. An ice sculpture greeted guests at the bar and Melanie Swords joined guests in the Garden Tent as she created a whimsical painting of the wedding ceremony. Guest were kept busy with a photo booth and Cuban Cigar station. And each place setting had the perfect October sweet for friends and family to take home – a caramel apple!

Kayla and Troy had an elegant rustic affair, completely transforming the Garden Tent with their Dusty Blue, Cranberry, and Champagne color palette, wood elements, and fun personal touches. We will see what this fall’s couples bring to Meadow Brook Hall!
