Quester’s International Grant Conserves Jewelry Collection

Meadow Brook Hall was awarded, for a second year, a Quester’s International Grant that will preserve another important artifact in The Hall’s collection – jewelry.  The 2012 grant will provide $1,100 in funding towards the purchase of special archival materials needed to rehouse and display Matilda Wilson’s jewelry collection.  The grant was facilitated by the Stoney Creek #203 chapter of Rochester whose members also provided hands-on assistance including photographing, researching, cataloging and rehousing the collection.  Some of the jewelry will be displayed during this year’s Holiday Walk presentation Puttin’ on the Glitz.

Meadow Brook Hall greatly appreciates the continued support of the Quester’s organization.  In addition to the jewelry conservation project, they also provided monetary gifts including a $300 gift from the Stoney Creek #203 chapter, a $295 gift from the Yates Mill chapter and a $400 gift from the Lamplighter’s chapter.  The donations will provide the much needed funds to assist the curatorial department efforts to preserve and exhibits vast collection of fine and decorative arts.
