Wedding Blog: Meet Our Wedding Staff

It’s important for us to get to know our clients so we can understand their vision for their wedding or event. In the same way, we want you to get to know the professionals here at Meadow Brook Hall who you may be working with on your wedding!

We interviewed Lori so you can get to know more about her – she may be one of the first people you speak with when you contact us here at Meadow Brook Hall. Keep reading to learn more about her role here and what she loves about her job.

Name and Role:

Lori Ginter, Sales and Events Manager

Describe your role here at Meadow Brook Hall (MBH).

I focus on overseeing sales of events here at Meadow Brook Hall – from weddings, to showers, to corporate events, and more. From the first time a client calls, I guide them through booking their event here from showing them around, deciding on menus, and making sure our event space will suit their needs for the wedding or event. I also support the rest of our sales and events team to make sure all of our clients have a great experience here at MBH.

How long have you worked at MBH?

I have been a part of the team here at MBH for 8 years. I began as an Event Manager, overseeing all details and execution of events. Then my focus transitioned to booking the events, and finally to managing the events team.

Which event has been your favorite to work on?

There are two events that come to mind.

First, one of the first weddings I coordinated when I started working at Meadow Brook Hall was a multi-cultural wedding, and the couple had two wedding ceremonies in one day. The groom entered the front circle for the morning ceremony riding on an elephant as a surprise to his family and guests. It was simply spectacular to see the reaction on everyone’s face as he entered for the ceremony. They were a great couple to work with and I still keep in touch with them from time to time.

Second, this year I was lucky enough to be part of the planning and filming of the Antiques Roadshow. It was very interesting to see all of the moving parts that it took to put the huge television production together and I enjoyed being a part of making that happen. I cannot wait to see the episodes when they air in the winter of 2019.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part is meeting all of our clients and seeing their reaction when they come to Meadow Brook Hall for the first time. I love hearing the stories of our wedding clients: how they met, what brought them to us, and the vision they have for their wedding.

What is your favorite room in MBH?

Wow, that is a hard one since I love everything about Meadow Brook Hall! If I have to choose, I would say the Sun Porch. I love that you can look out into the Rock Garden, English Walled Garden, and onto the back Loggia Terrace. It is simply beautiful.

What do you do outside of work? What are you passionate about?

When I am not working, the time I spend with my family and friends is most valuable to me. I like to whenever I can. I enjoy cooking when I have the time, and I love gardening, hiking, yoga, working out, traveling and boating.
