Our Estate Stories showcase some of the unique historic displays that can be viewed during this year’s Holiday Walk.
Meadow Brook Hall’s curator, Madelyn Chrapla, shows just two of the unique displays located in Meadow Brook’s Living Room – a handmade “dress tree” designed to replicate a real dress Matilda wore to a party in 1913 and a look into the beautiful organ chamber, which is on display for the first time in 50 years.

Meadow Brook Hall has earned third place in USA Today’s 2025 10Best Readers’ Choice travel awards! The expert panel selected Meadow Brook Hall to compete for the Best Historic Holiday Home Tour from a pool of nearly two dozen historic house museums across the country. Meadow Brook has consistently placed in the top ten for the past seven years, and earned second place in 2024.

Celebrate Meadow Brook’s 96th birthday by learning about the construction of the historic mansion.
Built between 1926 and 1929 by Matilda Dodge Wilson and Alfred Wilson, the Meadow Brook was designed in a Tudor Revival style inspired by English manor homes. Today, the estate stands as one of the largest historic homes in the U.S. and a preserved cultural landmark, showcasing the vision, craftsmanship, and legacy of its founders.

With 88,000 square feet of dazzling holiday magic, the Holidays at Meadow Brook are Michigan’s grandest holiday destination. The contest will run until noon on Monday, Dec. 1. Place your vote today – and every day – for Meadow Brook Hall!

Bring your group of ten children or more and choose from our Sugar Plum Tea and North Pole Jamboree. Each experience includes a holiday craft and snack in our education space – the historic Family Garage – before taking a self-guided tour of Holiday Walk. Holiday Youth Experiences are available to book on weekends from Nov. 28 – Dec. 30 and include the chance to add-on a visit with Santa on Santa Saturdays.

By day, the beloved annual Holiday Walk transports visitors through the historic mansion decked in shimmering splendor, while Winter Wonder Lights transforms the estate at night into a breathtaking light show featuring music, concessions and magic.

We’ll cast a spell of spooky fun this October with our special family event, Meadow Brook Hall-oween!
Your little ghosts and ghouls will love trick-or-treating across the estate in their Halloween costumes. Families will enjoy the fall scenery while exploring outside along the woodland paths and inside the first floor of the historic mansion, before heading to our heated Garden Tent for games, crafts, cider and donuts.

Meadow Brook Hall hosts memorable holiday parties, featuring inspired cuisine, first-class service and a dazzling holiday atmosphere – at the season’s most incomparable setting!

Join us for a strolling costume party filled with tricks and treats for Hall-Oween: Bewitching Hour. Enjoy candy, popcorn and a cash bar in an enchanted – or accursed? – setting.
Hall-Oween: Bewitching Hour promises grown-up trick-or-treating, signature cocktails (Poisoned Apple Punch, anyone?), spooky snacks and all the atmosphere of a ghostly gathering. Bring a date or friends and follow our lighted woodland path over the bridge and stop at stations for mysterious thrills and chills. Guests are encouraged to dress up in costume for this fun Halloween-themed evening experience. It’s an eerie extravaganza the evening of Sunday, Oct. 26, that offers a fang-tastic chance to be your most glamorous or ghoulish self.
