Meadow Brook Hall featured as Detroit Institute of Arts’ location for Inside|Out 2026

From spring to fall, Meadow Brook will host five reproductions of works from the DIA’s collection across the estate as part of the program.

Meadow Brook Hall is a historic house museum, community center & events and wedding venue in Rochester, Michigan.

The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) is proud to announce the communities in Oakland County participating in Inside|Out 2026. Now in its 17th year, the program brings reproductions from the DIA’s collection to outdoor spaces in Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb counties.

A weatherproof reproduction of Claude Monet’s “Rounded Flower Bed” will be on display at Meadow Brook Hall as part of the DIA’s Inside|Out program.

From May through October, Meadow Brook Hall will host five specially selected paintings across the estate. The paintings include “Reading the Story of Oenone” by Francis Davis Millet, “Irises and Calla Lilies” by Maria Oakey Dewing, “Woman Supreme” by Wadsworth Jarrell, “Saxophonist” by Maria Blanchard and “Rounded Flower Bed” by Claude Monet.

Once installed, members of the public will be able to view the artwork as part of a guided or self guided tour or by purchasing a grounds pass. For more information about visiting Meadow Brook, visit meadowbrookhall.org/tours.

Through this program, the DIA invites residents to discover art in new ways, fostering a deeper connection between the museum and its community in the Tri-County area.

“We’re looking forward to once again bringing Inside|Out to Oakland County and seeing residents experience the collection in their own backyards,” said Julie McFarland, Executive Director of Public Affairs and Engagement at the DIA. “We hope that seeing art in this way inspires people to visit the museum to experience the original works—and the full breadth of the collection—in person.”

This year, the Inside|Out program will bring artwork reproductions to the following communities in Oakland County:

  • Auburn Hills
  • Farmington
  • Groveland Township
  • Lathrup Village
  • Lawrence Technological University
  • Lyon Township
  • Meadow Brook Hall (Oakland University)
  • Oakland Community College (all campuses)
  • Oakland County Parks
  • Oakland Senior Centers
  • Oakland Township
  • Oxford
  • Walled Lake

Community members can expect to see 120 reproductions throughout Oakland County alongside fan favorites by Vincent Van Gogh, Frederic Edwin Church, Maria Blanchard, and more. Other selections this year – including the likes of Robert S. Duncanson’s Ellen’s Isle, Loch Katrine, Odilon Redon’s Evocation of Butterflies, Claude Monet’s Rounded Flower Bed (Corbeille de fleurs), and others – reflect the beauty of the natural world, mirroring the surroundings of the reproductions and encouraging viewers to experience nature in their own communities.

Art lovers can further explore Inside|Out with updated interactive webpages at dia.org.

Featuring detailed maps for every participating community, this digital tool makes it easier than ever to trace artworks back to the DIA, find other Inside|Out locations in their area, and more.

The Detroit Institute of Arts’ Inside|Out program is supported by Tri-County millage support and Ford Philanthropy.

General admission to the museum is always free for residents of Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb counties.
