Meadow Brook Brings Downton Abbey-Inspired Events, Valentine’s Dinner This February

The scene is set for an elegant, refined and even romantic winter at Meadow Brook Hall, with the return of several popular events—the Downton Abbey-inspired Servants Life Tour, Downton Days Tea, Talk & Tour and a romantic Valentine’s Dinner at the Great Estate.

Explore the secret lives of the downstairs staff with Meadow Brook Hall’s Downton Abbey-inspired A Servant’s Life Tour on weekends in February. The immersive tour takes visitors behind the scenes to experience life as it was lived in the “downstairs” of Meadow Brook Hall (Michigan’s own Downton Abbey) when the head housekeeper invites them to be part of the staff. The experience includes tea and scones in the servant’s dining room. The tour runs from 11:30-1 p.m. or 1:30-3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23. Tickets are $35 per person and must be booked in advance.

Set in Meadow Brook’s exquisite Christopher Wren Dining room, the elegant Downton Days Tea, Talk & Tour event will showcase the customs and etiquette in the time of Downton Abbey, including all that went into entertaining royalty. The afternoon includes the guided Servants’ Life tour and guests are welcome to wear Downton Abbey-inspired attire for this event. The event is set for 1-3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27. Tickets are $55 per person and must be booked in advance.

Treat your sweetheart to the most romantic evening this Valentine’s Day at the Great Estate. The experience begins with a romantic candlelight cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception with live music and the chance to explore The Hall through self-guided touring. Each couple will then enjoy a delectable three course dinner at a private table for two, with wine service and a decadent dessert. The event is set for 6:30-9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14. Tickets are $100 per person and must be booked in advance.
