Meadow Brook Adventure Days
Your child’s imagination will soar this summer at our unique Adventure Days. Children will explore the estate, learn new things, create special crafts and fill their day with big summer fun at a unique setting. We are hosting two special themed experiences:
Magical Meadow Brook
9 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Monday, June 15
Join us as Meadow Brook transforms into a one-day school of magic! Learn about mythical creatures, go on a Scavenger Hunt Quest and create your own House Crest in this magical adventure experience. Participants will make art projects, play in the House Games, imagine their own wizarding names and powers and enjoy all the magic of summertime at Meadow Brook.
Adventures in Art
9 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Monday, June 22
Young artists will experiment with different art forms while seeing first-hand examples of beautiful artwork at the estate, including sculptures, art glass, paintings, textiles and more. Participants will be inspired to create their own art, filled with patterns, mixed media, clay, canvas and even flowers from the estate. Play games and get creative at this special summer event!
All events are limited to 30 students per day. Events run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Snacks are included and children must bring a bagged lunch. Meadow Brook Adventure Days is for children aged 6-9 only.

Meadow Brook Writing Camp
Each summer, Meadow Brook Hall opens the estate to aspiring writers of all ages for the Meadow Brook Writing Camps, hosted by the Meadow Brook Writing Project. Each day, students will tour the historic house museum and world-class gardens to nurture, polish and ultimately publish their original works. Published works include both written and digital presentations.
Collaborative teaching teams consist of K-12 writing teachers and Oakland University faculty from the Department of Writing and Rhetoric. All are alumni of Meadow Brook Writing Project’s Summer Institute, an intensive writer’s workshop for master teachers involved in the National Writing Project (NWP). All youth camp teachers are involved in continuing education, including NWP conferences, publications and teacher-training workshops. Teachers are assisted by trained Meadow Brook Hall docents.
One scholarship is available each summer for siblings of children battling life-threatening illnesses: The Elsa and Ingrid Scholarship for Young Authors and Artists. To learn more or to apply for the scholarship, please contact us at (248) 370-4151 or reach out to MBWC Camp Director Rebecca Rivard at rivard2@oakland.edu.
