A National Historic Landmark, Meadow Brook Hall is an historic house museum, cultural center and events and wedding venue.
Meadow Brook Hall is the historic home of Oakland University founder, Matilda Dodge Wilson, widow of auto pioneer, John Dodge, and her second husband, Alfred Wilson. Constructed between 1926 and 1929, Meadow Brook Hall represents one of the finest examples of Tudor-revival style architecture in America and is especially renowned for its superb craftsmanship, architectural detailing and grand scale of 88,000 square-feet.
Meadow Brook is open for public touring year-round and is located on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.

Parking is free and available onsite.
Most public spaces at the Great Estate are accessible. Stone pathways allow guests ease of access from the parking lot to the front door, leading up to the garden tent. Electric wheelchairs and scooters are allowed inside Meadow Brook Hall where space permits. Our Guided tours are barrier-free and wheelchair accessible. The Behind-the-Scenes tour is not fully wheelchair accessible.
Limited wheelchairs are available onsite on a first come, first served basis. Please call (248) 364-6200 for additional accessibility information.
There is no restaurant at Meadow Brook Hall.
However, we do have an in-house catering team that creates custom menus for weddings and special events.
Meadow Brook Hall’s business hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Meadow Brook is closed during major holidays and at select other times during the year:

Yes! Meadow Brook members receive free general tour admission throughout the year, along with half-off specialty tours, including the dazzling Holidays at Meadow Brook featuring Winter Wonder Lights and Holiday Walk. Ambassador level members receive free access to the Holidays at Meadow Brook. All tickets must be booked online in advance by selecting a date and entering the special code (provided by email) at checkout.

Parking is free and available onsite. Many private events offer valet parking. When you arrive, follow the signs to either use valet or self-park.

Visitors are welcome to take photos while exploring Meadow Brook Hall. However, flash photography inside the historic mansion is not permitted.

Meadow Brook’s corps of volunteers come from diverse backgrounds and represent a wide range of interests, talents and skillsets. Volunteers can serve the estate as docents, hosts, work in the Museums Store, as part of our Squires group, as naturalists or as part of the Meadow Brook Garden Club.
