Wild Game Dinner & Auction Brings Energy, Support to Meadow Brook

Meadow Brook’s biggest annual fundraising experience features fantastic fare, inspired auctions and support that is totally wild.

Take a walk on the culinary wild side at Meadow Brook Hall’s biggest annual fundraising experience, the Wild Game Dinner & Auction. The event on Thursday, Sept. 15, features a strolling dinner, unique auction items and live music all set against the iconic backdrop of the National Historic Landmark, located in Rochester on the campus of Oakland University.

Meadow Brook’s in-house chef has curated a strolling dinner menu featuring inventive takes on wild game-inspired cuisine, such as farm-raised venison chili and pheasant empanadas with avocado crema. It features vegetarian options as well, such as ricotta ravioli with butternut squash cream, roasted Brussel sprouts, toasted pecans and dried cherries. The full menu is available here.

Band Athens Creek performs at Meadow Brook's Wild Game DInnerThe event will feature a live performance from the local Americana band Athens Creek. The evening will feature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a unique selection of silent auction items along the loggia terrace as the sun sets over the Great Estate.

Meadow Brook Hall is the historic home built by one of the automotive aristocracy’s most remarkable women, Matilda Dodge Wilson, widow of auto pioneer John Dodge, and her second husband, Alfred Wilson. Constructed between 1926 and 1929, Meadow Brook Hall represents one of the finest examples of Tudor-revival style architecture in America, and is especially renowned for its superb craftsmanship, architectural detailing and grand scale of 88,000 square-feet. It was the center of a country estate that included 1,500 acres, numerous farm buildings, recreational facilities, several residences and formal gardens.
