About the performers
Kimmie Horne (Thursday, July 13)
International artist Kimmie Horne culminates the whole package when it comes to entertaining. Her musical experience is revealed as she transforms non-traditional jazz songs into swinging sensations, as evident with her jazzy rendition of “I Will Survive”. With each song and vibrant show, Horne interacts with her audiences with Class, Style and Charisma.
Shahida Nurullah (Thursday, July 27)
A versatile vocalist, Shahida Nurullah’s repertoire includes the blues, jazz, samba, bossa nova, show tunes and more. Shahida has performed at numerous southeast Michigan clubs as well as in the musical, “After Hours: Great Legends, Great Music!”
Ben Sharkey (Thursday, August 10)
Ben Sharkey has been delighting fans worldwide with his romantic style and velvet vocals on old swing and jazz standards that would make old Blue Eyes himself green with envy. Although often compared to contemporaries like Michael Bublé, Ben is actually more closely comparable to Mel Torme and Harry Connick, Jr, with his intimate interpretations of jazz classics and ability to make them sound fresh and new.
Dave Bennett (Thursday, August 24)
A multi-instrument phenomenon, Dave Bennett is a clarinet virtuoso who plays electric guitar, piano, drums and vocalizes. He is the only artist anywhere saluting The Roots of Pop: covering music from the Swing Era to early Rockabilly and Country, to Elvis Presley, the Beatles and more.
